Want to switch off Copilot in Windows 11? Follow these steps using Group Policy Editor:
- Open Start and bring up the Group Policy Editor. You can do this by typing "gpedit" into the search bar and clicking on the Group Policy Editor when it pops up.
- Once you're in, head over to User Configuration.
- Go to Administrative Templates, followed by Windows Components, and finally, Windows Copilot.
- Look for the policy named "Turn off Windows Copilot" in the right-hand section and double click.
- In the next window, select "Enabled."
- Make sure to apply your changes by clicking "Apply," then seal the deal with "OK."
And that's all there is to it! You've successfully disabled Copilot in Windows 11, now it won't pop up or interfere until you decide otherwise.
It might seem odd that you're clicking "Enabled" when you want to turn something off, but what you're doing is enabling a policy that turns Copilot off ๐ย
If you ever change your mind and wish to bring Copilot back, simply reverse the process, opting for "Not configured" or "Disabled" instead of "Enabled" at the final stage.
